My miniature group met at my house last Thursday. We decided on the name Mini-Munchers, A Little Stitching on the Side. Once a month we gather to share our project of the month, which is always something smaller than 24" square. This month's project was Warm Apple Pie. Such fun to share a project with the same pattern, different fabrics. Jewell even made a miniature one in blue.
The last 2 meetings have been at my house because I am slowly recovering from a broken leg and I still have a little difficulty getting around. We share a potluck lunch, hence the Munchers part of our group name. First we had coffee and Jewell's amazing coffee cake. Then we sat around to sew. Finally at 12:45, Mary said, "Ladies, I need to leave by 2." We hadn't even had lunch yet. So we quickly assembled our delicious potluck lunch and munched away.
This group has really bonded into an event that we all look forward to.
The project for next month is to do a Sunbonnet Sue, hand applique, and hand quilt. These ladies always push me a little so we will see what I come up with. I would love to do Sunbonnet Sue in Texture Magic clothes. Love those challenges!

What fun! A place to comment. I have really enjoyed being a Minnie-Muncher. We do challenge eachother to try something new. Previously we have made friendship stars, cathedral windows, paper pieced a garden maze, and tried to copy a quilt found hanging on a wall with no directions, just visual clues. We had a great tutorial on how to miniaturize patterns and were pleased that even those of us who are mathmatically challenged could figure it out.
ReplyDeleteThis month's project, Sunbonnet Sue, is going to be my least favorite, I can already tell... I cut my pattern out of freezer paper, just hat and body, ironed paper onto fabric, and am puzzled how to get those tiny pieces appliqued to the fabric. As Sandy said, 'We'll see.'
